Bisa's FashionFIX: 'Comic Book Hero' featuring DIY dress

Hey lovelies! 

I had so much fun doing this shoot. The photographs were taken by my friend Takunda on an extremely hot day. I was totally commited to the poses that day and tried to make it look easy, but back bending in those boots was a killer!

 This bag was made and designed by a designer called Molly Quest. This bag was actually named after me which is a huge honour! I have details of it in my previous post The Bisa Clutch bag

Although I love the flawless look, I'm also a fan on the natural, dewy look

Adding high light with concealer is such a great way to brighten the face & add dimension 

Sometimes, when you apply a full coverage foundation with a matte texture, it can make the face appear quite "flat" so highlight is sometimes used to reinforce those dimensions. Adding back that which was taken away.

I've created some illustrations which will hopefully demonstrate my point...

The image below represents the flattening effect of full coverage foundation without hight;

Then I add high light. Highlight and contour can both be used to manipulate features also. Make certain features appear bigger or smaller

Then I add contour. This is mostly done around the face & you can see by comparing the first and second illustration, that the face on the final image instantly appears narrower.

Obviously we are 3Dimentional beings but the using these same effects can produce very similar results.

Hey guys! So I'm finally back with fashion posts! This is definitely where my heart lies so I'm excited to do more fashion based things on my blog and youtube channel.

This is a dress I made for my last birthday celebration. If you've seen my tumblr page, you'll see that I LOVE shiny things! However, my absolute favourite combination is black & gold! 

In my opinion, wearing black gives you an excuse to go all out with accessories...

Above, is a sketch I drew showing the style of this dress, although this was drawn after the dress was completed.
